According to Business Insider,
“The insane popularity of a single sweatshirt has forced its maker to expand into four new factories within the last year just to meet the soaring demand.
The zip-up hoodie, made by San Francisco startup American Giant, costs $89. It had been on the market for 10 months when a December 2012 Slate article declared it "the greatest hoodie ever made” and suddenly sales exploded.
$89 for a hoodie? I recently had a Truck Club trunk delivered to me that had a hoodie in there priced for $110. It was nothing spectacular. It felt like a hoodie I could get at Old Navy.
Now THIS is something that intrigues me. I might want to indulge on one of these and see if it really lives up to the hype. I’d also wouldn’t mind the model to come with the garment either.
