It’s ok… admit it… you’ve copied someone else’s copy one, two or even ten times for yourself…

When I was a writer for a really awful morning show a few years ago I was told to stay away from writing copy like “This is the viral video EVERYONE is talking about.”

When you get to work at 2am and may or may not have had a few cocktails before coming into work if I felt stuck on a story I’d hit up the 11pm shows rundown… lift the copy and snazz it up a little bit for our crazy morning viewers.

Most local news stations are subscribers to a video service. ABC NewsOne, NewsPath, CNN News Source. Well it looks like these anchors did what’s called a rip and read from a packaged segment called “Hollywood Minute” from CNN
